About the Journal

Research on the Psychology of Religion is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes scientific research focusing on the psychological examination of processes and phenomena related to religious life.

The journal features articles on various topics in the psychology of religion, including lifespan religious development, belief and cognitive processes, religion, and mental health, religious coping mechanisms, experiences of religious conversion, religious identity formation, and the intersection of culture and religious practices.
The journal publishes original empirical research articles presenting new findings, theoretical articles developing conceptual frameworks, comprehensive literature reviews synthesizing existing knowledge, and critical book reviews. It aims to provide methodological diversity by including content prepared through various approaches, from quantitative studies to qualitative analyses, from mixed-method research to theoretical contributions.

Research on the Psychology of Religion, a publication of the Turkish Association for the Psychology of Religion, aims to advance the literature on the psychology of religion both in Turkey and internationally. To increase accessibility and impact at the international level, the journal is published in English; however, to bridge the gap between global and local academic knowledge, each article includes a Turkish abstract. The journal is published biannually, in June and December.
